Is Unwanted Hair Holding You Back?
Getting rid of pesky hair doesn’t have to mean endless tweezing, plucking and fussing. Typical hair removal methods like depilatory creams, bleaching, and waxing offer short-term relief, but they can also be messy, painful, and hard on the skin.
When we think about having beautiful hair-free skin, it is often to change how we look and to feel better about ourselves. For many women, having perfectly shaped eyebrows makes us feel more feminine. Imagine the convenience of feeling clean and groomed all the time, without any fuss or upkeep!
Anyone who is prone to ingrown hair knows how painful unwanted hair can be, not to mention the bumps and redness caused by those wayward hairs growing back into the skin. When avoiding ingrown hairs can be an uphill battle, it’s no wonder some of us would rather have the whole issue just go away.
Have Beautiful Hair-Free Skin… Forever
Electrolysis makes the promise of permanently hair-free skin a reality. Ocean Med Spa offers professional electrolysis hair-removal treatments in a private and soothing environment. We understand that unwanted hair can be a sensitive issue, and as our client we treat you with the compassion and discretion that you deserve.
Whether to choose laser hair removal or electrolysis may depend on your personal situation or the area you want treated. For example, Electrolysis is great for eyebrows because it uses an electrical current instead of a light-based laser.
How does Electrolysis Work?
To remove unwanted hair, Certified Clinical Electrologist Eileen Villa inserts a very fine, sterile needle along the shaft of hair and into the follicle. A tiny amount of electric current travels through the needle, destroying the follicle. Once a hair is treated with electrolysis, it can never grow back.
Because hair grows in 10- to 12-week cycles, it can take up to 3 months to achieve permanent hair removal. A series of treatments lets all the hairs come to the surface of the skin to be removed.
Is Electrolysis Painful or Leave a Mark?
Some people compare electrolysis discomfort to tweezing or plucking. Numbing creams can help reduce any pain during treatment, and most people find that any lingering soreness goes away within a couple of hours.
Since electrolysis only targets the hair follicle, it is gentle on the surrounding skin and tissue. Your skin may appear slightly pink and puffy immediately after treatment, but this usually goes away within a half hour to an hour.
Electrolysis treatments are easy enough that you can come in on your lunch hour, and return to work immediately after your session.
